9-1-1 Information:

9-1-1  is an emergency telephone number that provides immediate and direct access to local Fire, Police/Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and other emergency responders.  9-1-1  is a system to provide immediate response to calls for these type services.

City of Mandan 9-1-1 Center - 9-1-1  answering/dispatch center for the City of Mandan is located in north Bismarck at the Central Dakota Communications Center.  This dispatch/answering point receives calls for emergencies from Mandan residents whose address is within the city limits of Mandan.

Morton County 9-1-1 Center - The remainder of Morton County to include the incorporated cities of Almont, Flasher, Hebron, Glen Ullin and New Salem is supported with 9-1-1 service by State Radio Communications located within the Fraine Barracks complex in Bismarck.

These 9-1-1 Communication Centers exist to answer calls and provide dispatch services for both emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance.  These communication centers are staffed 24/7 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) to receive calls and dispatch the appropriate responders.

The 9-1-1 system can be activated by landline and wireless (cellular) phones.  When you call 9-1-1 using a cellular phone, it is very important to give the dispatcher your cell phone number right away in case you lose connection.  Depending on your location, when you dial 9-1-1 from a cell phone, your call may reach a cell phone tower that directs your 9-1-1 call to a different 9-1-1 center other than for your jurisdiction.  It is necessary to give the dispatcher the address of your location so they can contact the correct 9-1-1 center and relay the necessary information.  When you call them from a landline phone, you will also be asked for your call-back number and the address of the emergency.

If you need more information on 9-1-1  services, please call the Morton County Office of Emergency Management at 667-3307.
